The Ostara Tarot is a 78 card deck that loosely follows the traditional symbolism of the Ryder-Waite-Smith deck, while also exploring themes of wilderness and surrealism. It features digitally finished graphite illustrations by the artists Molly Applejohn, Eden Cooke, Julia Iredale, and myself.
In the interest of keeping the deck cohesive, we gave each of the four suits (Wands, Swords, Coins, and Cups) to a single artist, and assigned an animal (or family of animal) to every minor arcana card, from Ace to King, with the exception of the Queen, which we left to choice. Furthermore, each card bears the same delicate border, as well as a Roman numeral, or corresponding name. I was tasked with illustrating the suit of Swords, as well as five Major Arcana cards.
